PATE CALVADOS

It started in an apple orchard (not
Exactly in Eden, but with resemblances)
In Normandy. Next stop a cider press
Guided by centuries of Gallic art.

A miraculous infusion, Calvados
Results, both potable and exportable.
What happens then partakes of the occult.
Peter decants some drops in a potent dose

And neatly blends them with a magic mixture
Of arcane mysteries, like chicken livers,
Cream and butter, spices, mushroom slivers–
Then molds, adorns, and serves with an elixir

Of vinous nectar and crackery collation.
Our palates swoon in blissful consummation!
